Social Media Content Strategist / Creator

As a member of the Preston Kelly digital team, you will be leading and executing innovative social strategies for our clients. You’ll apply your creativity, strategic thinking, and knowledge of social platforms and culture to push the boundaries of “good social” and create thumb-stopping, original and shareable content. You’ll be a good listener who builds relationships and collaborates with other disciplines to position social as part of a larger marketing ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead social media and content strategies for Preston Kelly and our clients in entertainment, food, healthcare, financial, CPG and other categories
  • Translate marketing goals and objectives into award-winning social media and content approaches that are rooted in consumer and cultural insights
  • Conduct social listening, spot trends and recommend cultural moments to leverage
  • Instigate and execute original content ideas that build the overarching brand narrative – independently and in partnership with the Creative team
  • Be a vibrant social media knowledge resource across agency disciplines and departments
  • Be adept at managing online communities and developing intuitive content calendars that drive momentum
  • Gather, analyze, and report social and web analytics to evaluate and optimize performance against goals
  • Actively participate in team brainstorms and collaborative development of brand and engagement strategies
  • Research and stay up to date on social media trends, best practices, tools and consumer behaviors on an ongoing basis, proactively educating the agency and clients
  • Experiment (wonderful/educational failure is expected!) with new social platforms and capabilities, as well as innovative ways to use existing ones

Desired Expertise/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education combined with experience
  • 2-5 years in social strategy and content creation
  • Strong grasp of using social media to generate measurable value for brands
  • An advocate for the consumer, creating strategies and content that will be welcome in their lives and generate engagement
  • Solid understanding of what motivates the consumer, along with a drive to follow cultural and social trends and the ability to translate this knowledge into a strategic, well-written plan
  • Demonstrated experience in creating original, impactful social content (portfolio or examples of past work are helpful) Photography, video, animation and/or design skills are preferred
  • Comfort with creating and giving compelling presentations
  • Deep knowledge of content strategy methodologies, tools and frameworks, community management, social listening, content calendars, and social media measurement
  • Curiosity and drive to experiment and master new and changing platforms
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and self-organizing skills
  • Team player who loves to collaborate with others
  • Understanding of SEO, SEM and how social media and websites fit into the broader marketing ecosystem
