Preston Kelly Scores Recognition in 2010 Kelly Awards

Minneapolis, MN (April 5, 2010) For the first time in the agency’s history, Preston Kelly was chosen as one of 26 finalists in the Magazine Publishers of America’s 2010 Kelly Awards for its work with the Minnesota Zoo. Now in its 29th year, the Kelly Awards aim to recognize agency creative teams and advertising clients that have developed innovative campaigns that blend creative excellence and an effective approach to meeting campaign objectives.

Preston Kelly will have an opportunity to win one of 12 prizes, including the Grand Prize, Gold Kelly or Silver Kelly for general excellence, each of which are accompanied by a bonus of $25,000. Joining the field of industry heavy-hitters such as Goodby Silverstein and Partners, BBDO New York, Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Minnesota’s own Carmichael Lynch, Preston Kelly could also cart home one of a slew of other awards, including the RR Donnelley Innovation Award, the Effectiveness Award or Best Public Service Campaign.

“The Kelly Awards have been one of our long-term ‘national recognition’ goals as an agency—this recognition reflects the power of  our iconic ideas, as well as a trusting and collaborative relationship with the Minnesota Zoo,” said Chris Preston, EVP Creative Director at Preston Kelly.

The campaigns were selected by senior creative directors from leading advertising agencies and magazine advertising clients who welcomed the return to storytelling portrayed in the ads as well as an inventive use of space. On May 18, the winners will be announced at an invitation-only reception in New York City.
